Denver Art Museum – $25,000

The Denver Art Museum will use this grant to present an exhibition entitled "Blackfeet Perspectives in the Art of Charles M. Russell." The exhibition will explore Russell’s representations of and relationships with Blackfeet (Niitsitapi) art, culture, and community, and will pair Russell's works with Blackfeet art and belongings from the museum’s collection. The museum will incorporate past and present Blackfeet perspectives to offer new understanding and center Blackfeet agency and voice.
