U-Pick Gives Back: Strengthening Farms and Communities Through Local Food
This grant will support “U-Pick Gives Back,” a pilot project that will enable customers at U-pick farms to round up purchases and contribute directly to ensuring that their food-insecure neighbors have access to locally grown food. Farms will use the funds generated to purchase their own produce for donation to Goodwill Northern Michigan's Food Rescue program. The program will support farm viability, strengthen northwest Michigan’s local food economy, and help ensure that all food pantries in GWNM's service area offer fresh produce.
